The Humpback whale can be regularly seen in the waters of southern Queensland. During the winter the humpback whales migrate from Antarctica to the warm waters of Queensland where they can feed, breed and frolic and enjoy the shady waters of Fraser Island.

There are several humpback whales that make an appearance in Fraser Island from July to November where they then begin their migration with their new born calves. Fraser Island has gained a lot of popularity in recent years due to its main attraction, the whales, where tourist and naturalist and other wild life enthusiasts’ religiously return to watch these magnificent creatures year after year.
